It’s Time is seeking a committed individual to join our passionate board of trustees. This is a unique opportunity for those who are enthusiastic about making the world a better place for young adults impacted by the loss of one or both parents.

About It’s Time:

It’s Time is the UK’s first charity focussed on supporting young adults after the loss of one or both parents. We offer support to both young adults and their support networks who are impacted by the loss of a parent. The charity was founded in 2021 and we’re in a new stage of growth, with 2 employees and 9 trustees.

The Role:

This specific Volunteer Trustee position involves playing a pivotal role in shaping and overseeing our introduction of new charitable services. As a member of the trustee board, you will also help shape the general direction of the charity.

Ideal Candidates:

We are  actively searching for an individual with expertise in

  • Charity sector experience

  • Experience with charity governance

  • Charitable service design/delivery (therapy etc)

  • Nice to have - safeguarding experience

Competencies, knowledge, and skills:

  • Collaborating within a team dynamic

  • Understanding the legal obligations and responsibilities key to trusteeship

  • Upholding principles of impartiality and fairness

  • Championing equality and diversity initiatives

  • Demonstrating commitment and allocating necessary time and effort

  • Offering diverse perspectives to enrich collective discussions

  • Providing on-demand guidance and insights to staff members

  • Ideally lived experience (lost a parent before 30 years old)
