WHO ARE WE?
Itβs Time is built by a passionate team who have all experienced the painful grief of losing a parent. We have all experienced something similar, yet our stories are all so unique. Itβs Time exists to support young adults who have experienced the loss of a parent, as well as helping their family, friends, and places of work or study support them better.
WHY ITβS TIME?
1 in 7 people will lose a parent by the age of 30.
We built Itβs Time based on our lived experience of losing one or both parents as a young adult. We understand that losing a parent young is a life-changing experience that comes with a unique set of challenges.
Whether itβs university, having children, changes in your career or friendships, there are so many changes happening when youβre a young adult, and combining this with the loss of a parent can be extremely difficult. Youβre often the first one in your circle to go through this kind of loss, which can leave you feeling isolated in your grief. Support groups tend to focus on other age groups and it can be hard to find community, which is why we started Itβs Time.
OUR CORE VALUE
Every young adult who loses a parent deserves to feel supported.
OUR GOALS
COMMUNITY
We aim to create a community for those experiencing the loss of one or both parents. Connecting to others who have similar experiences can help us feel less alone in grief.
SUPPORT
Services can be hard to access when youβre young so we want to make them accessible to ensure more young adults feel supported.
EDUCATION
We want to help educate people on how to support a young adult going through the loss of one or both parents. From universities, colleges, employers to friends, family and partners.
THE POWER OF STORYTELLING
We believe in sharing and telling stories from our lived experiences! There are many unspoken parts of grief, sharing these stories breaks taboos and makes others feel less alone.
