It’s time to fundraise…

Help us help young adults who have lost a parent

A big thank you from us at It’s Time for exploring ways to raise money. Every penny you raise on our behalf will help us make a real difference for young adults who have lost a parent.

From attending It’s Time events, to taking part in sport challenges, or even organising your own fundraising activity, there are ideas, hints, and tips to suit everyone.

Fundraising activities

The sky’s the limit when it comes to fundraising activities; from the adrenalin rush of a skydive to more down-to-earth activities such as running events, the choice is yours when it comes to raising money for It's Time.

Take part in a sport or challenge event

Why not challenge yourself and help a good cause at the same time? Take part in a half or full marathon, a 5 or 10k run or even a hike challenge or Tough Mudder.

Organise your own event

Get creative and hold your own event to help raise money for It’s Time.

  • Hold a bake sale at your school or community

  • Organise a quiz night with friends and family

  • Do a sponsored silence

  • Organise a local charity auction

  • Host a dinner party

  • Ask for donations instead of gifts for your wedding or birthday

Raise in memory

Many families look to collect donations as a unique way to remember their loved ones and honour their memory. Create a tribute page for your loved one(s), or consider asking for donations at their funeral or memorial service.

Fundraising hints and tips

Fundraising can be challenging, especially in these hard times. We want to help you make the experience as easy and enjoyable as possible.

Reach out beyond family and friends

Friends and family are great, but make sure to reach out to your wider circle. Ask work colleagues for support, or perhaps put up a poster in a local shop or village hall if allowed. If you have Instagram, Twitter or Facebook, make sure to shout about it to your followers (and tag us so we can share your effort on ours)!

Tell people about what we do

People like to know who they are giving money to and especially how it’s going to be used.

Find out who we are and what we stand for

Set realistic goals

Having something to aim for always helps, but don’t put too much pressure on yourself to reach exceedingly high targets and lofty goals that may not be feasible to your fundraising activity.

Share the details

Tell people the details of your fundraising activity, they may be more generous especially if you are taking on a particularly difficult or personally challenging activity.

Stay in touch with us - we want to support you!

We want to hear from you throughout your entire fundraising journey; before during, and after. We want to offer further help and advice. Drop us a message through Instagram, email us hello@itstimecharity.co.uk, better yet, scroll to the bottom and fill out the form!

Most importantly, enjoy yourself!

We want you to enjoy the experience of your event or activity, and not put too much pressure or worry on yourself.

Anything you raise for It’s Time is amazing, and will be so appreciated by us and our beneficiaries.

From marathon runs in Edinburgh to bike rides to Latvia, here are some inspiring stories of fundraisers who’ve helped It’s Time

A 57km UltraMarathon through Edinburgh

On 17th October 2021, Tom ran a 57km UltraMarathon through Edinburgh city, with 3000ft elevation of ascent and descent. Tom kindly choose to raise money for It’s Time.

I’m running for my friends, my girlfriend, their families, my grandparents I never met, my Mum and everyone else who suffers parental loss. So when the unthinkable happens to others in future - they have the support they need.

A 2,000km bike ride from London to Latvia

On the 3rd September 2015, Oli and Josh sadly lost their dad to a brain tumour aged just 59. In late August 2021, they embarked on a 2,000km bike ride from London to Riga, Latvia. They raised money for the Brain Tumour Charity as well as It’s Time.

With both of us inheriting dad’s trait of not wanting to do anything my half measures, we have decided to jump on the bikes and ride the 2,000km journey over two weeks from London to Riga – home of the Kriškināns surname.
