Complicated Grief: A clinical understanding of working with adults bereaved as children.

Training day with Mandy Gosling UKCP Psychotherapist

About the training:

  • The training will take place Friday 28th February between 9am-1pm online via Zoom.

  • The presence of unresolved childhood grief in adult life can remain hidden in the therapy room.  Navigating the nuances and complexities of this presentation highlights a variety of challenges therapeutically.  Understanding this particular type of loss at an intricate level enables a safe space for clients to find their way through their journey of historical loss and prolonged grief.

This is an experiential workshop and will bring a collaborative approach alongside taught clinical insights with theoretical underpinning.  This style of workshop facilitates the needs of the group as a whole, with the ability to bring challenges and wisdom in the shared experience.

By synthesising insights from clinical practice, attachment theory, child development, neuroscience, trauma informed practice, grief theory and creative methods, the participants will acquire knowledge and tools to support adults who were bereaved as children.

  • Suitable for qualified psychotherapists and counsellors and those in current therapy training.  (Please state current level of qualification.)

  • Mandy Gosling will be facilitating the training day.
